Untitled 8

Lying. This perhaps is the most important and sacred of human tendencies. We must lie. And why, you ask? Well, without deceitfulness, the world as we know will cease to exist. Lying is the only thing that keeps this round object (okay, oblate spheroid) turning.

Without lying, fabricating and faking your every move of existence, the world would come to blows bitter than the bitterest Denatonium. You have to cheat, lie and live this world in a way that nothing you ever say is truthful.

Actually, we do live in such a way. Nothing we say is the god-honest truth, is it? There is always a small and sometimes minuscule section that is a lie. But fear not, this is a marvelously good thing, a thing that in fact helps you survive. Unless you want to die, that is. If that be the case, then start telling the truth.

Fortunately, being human, you can’t tell the truth. So you are going to be called safe by the Umpire after the dust settles down, and at times even before. Truth never helped anyone, truth is like that friend who is good to you, will never be deceitful and will always be there for you. Well, that is until and always before you turn your back.

The moment you turn your back, truth becomes a cunning master of trickery and falsification. Truth will tear you apart and will still continue to be your best friend. Lie on the other hand does no such thing. He will from day one, hate you, take the mickey and will make sure you suffer and drown in your own world. But he loves you.

Lie loves you so much that he will lie for you; well he will even lie beside you. What more do you expect? Without his lies, you are nothing. You have nothing to be afraid of, as long as lying continues to conquer the truth. You may argue that truth is what will set you free. I have to agree. But I don’t think you are ready to be set free.

Man is far away from the truth today than he ever was. This of course I maintain is a good thing for human kind. Truth will not get you far; in fact truth will keep you tied down and eventually kill you. Well not before it tortures you by turning you upside down and stroking blades across your bare backs. Unless of course you enjoy such a thing. And if you do, then the truth is for you.
